Site specific installation, 15 x 3 m, beach trash on a shipwreck

Ha Long Bay, Cat Ba, Vietnam

A place where the sea at high tide always washes up decomposing remains of human activity, and at the same time a place where a shipwreck on the shore got stuck in history. I cleaned up a part of the beach and wrapped this once-floating ship in trash. Whenever the tide is in, the object gets swallowed up by water and resurfaces whenever the tide is low. The plastic trash in which it is wrapped will not get washed back into the sea anymore and so the longevity of this decomposition process is prolonged. Picture was taken after the first flooding.
