Intervention into a mid-20th century painting, author unknown, 60 x 42 cm, acrylic
I bought this painting at a flea market and as I was carrying it under my arm, a man stopped me telling me that he likes it very much and that he will buy it from me for twice of what it cost. “I’m not selling this, sir, I’ve got some plans with it, and I intend to paint over it.” “What? You want to paint over it? I want it as it is. I’ll give you three times the cost, right now.” “Well, that’s a nice offer, but I’m not selling it, thank you.” “Okay, then name your price,” the man tried again, but I resisted that too. And then I exhibited it at the hall of our apartment building for random passers-by.
