Bond – site-specific installation, 100 x 80 x 60 cm, terry towels, Eito, Santo Antão, Cape Verde 2024 Where summer never ends, life flows to the rhythm of the sun and wind. People here breathe in harmony with nature, spending most of their time outdoors, connecting their days with one another. Houses aren’t prisons here, just shelters of shade, where porches come alive through mutual sharing and accord. Mothers, with children strapped to their backs, forge a bond among themselves, with nature, and with their community. A small bundle of life, rocked in the cradle of love, nourished by the warmth of the sun and the breath of the earth. The fundamental qualities of love, closeness, and the universe become the very laws of being in this community.
