Polygons
Painting on a pedal car, 120 x 50 x 40 cm, acrylic
Holec Contemporary Art Collection
2016
The object translates the principle of polygonal 3D modelling back into the physical world. The surface of a real pedal car is divided by a network of lines resembling the wireframe structure of a digital model. An object that could itself serve as the basis for a virtual representation thus adopts the visual language of its own computer simulation. Here, the digital construction of form does not serve as a means of creating a physical object. Instead, an already existing material object is retrospectively stylized into the form of its virtual model.
