Noshape IV
site-specific installation in two rooms
Hotel Donebe, Kutná Hora, Czech Republic
2026, permanent installation
Noshape is a mutable object with no single definitive form. In each space, it is created anew, responding to the site’s structure, memory, and function, and each time changing not only its shape but also its meaning. In the attic of Hotel Donebe in Kutná Hora, it spreads through the structure of the building, taking the form of two interconnected formations. It is made from found steel sheets deformed by heavy machinery during the demolition of another building. Their crumpled edges and folds are overlaid with a delicate network of white lines, transforming raw construction debris into a fragile sculptural structure. The contrast between the destruction of the material and the delicacy of the drawing completes a cycle of creation and decay. What originated in the demolition of one building becomes part of another, newly reconstructed building, acquiring a new spatial life of its own. The installation also develops the earlier concept of Overgrowth. Here, Noshape does not function as an isolated sculptural object, but as an organism that grows through the surrounding architecture and gradually becomes intertwined with it.
